SAP / Magma Integration |
"Magma became one of the first two UK based certified integration products in January 2006." |
EDI / XML IntegrationMagma is integrated into the SAP® Business One product and has passed the rigorous SAP certification tests. Magma is an automated product that carries out its work in the background notifying nominated users as required. At the heart of Magma is a data mapping and delivery engine which acts as the Middleware between SAP® Business One and external systems and partners. The best way to approach an EDI project is to ask Trading Partners what kind of data they wish to exchange and how they wish the data to be delivered. The following paragraphs expand on this: Data FormatCommon formats are EDI (Tradacoms, Edifact, Odette and Ansi), XML, delimited, fixed width and SQL. These formats are simply different ways of representing business transactions. The key point is that Magma abstracts away the complexities of the formatting and provides a consistent interface into SAP Business One. Data DeliveryMany trading partners still use proprietary EDI Value Added Networks (VAN's) from companies such as GXS and BT. These VAN's are effectively electronic post offices that charge based on volume. There is a slow move away from these networks to secure internet based protocols as good cost savings can be realised. With certain internet protocols such as HTTP and AS2 we can also achieve real time responses. The key point is that Magma supports all common VAN and internet protocols. Credit CardsAvailable as an extension to Magma is the Credit Card Processing Plug-In for SAP® Business One. This extension allows you to integrate Credit Card Payments directly with SAP Business One in both a Web and Telesales environment. Where Can This Solution Work?In a Telesales environment - the solution includes a SAP® Business One screen to capture the Credit Card details (link to image below) In a Web Environment - if you have a web site that captures Credit Card details but you want the payments to be deferred and linked to SAP Business One. Why Take Credit Cards?Reduce Administration - Removing administrative resources required by invoices, cheques and cash. Improved Cash Flow - Payment at the time of purchase reduces the pressures caused by 30-day invoicing Growth - Open additional payment channels via the phone, mail order and Internet and increase your customer base. More customers mean more revenue. Increase Customer ServiceChoice - like your competitors, you can offer a wide range of payment options. Convenience - remove the need for invoices, cheques, cash and BACs, Credit - allow purchases that would otherwise be delayed Competitive edge - if you don't offer the full range of payment options but your competitors do, what does this say about your business? Why Integrate Credit Cards?Reduce Administration - No more running to the PDQ machine. Security - no more credit card numbers written on pieces of paper. In many cases there is no need to store the Credit Card information at all. Any data that is stored is written away in an encrypted form. Handle Deferred Payments - if there is a delay between receiving the order and shipping the goods then the payment can be deferred. This means that at the point of order we reserve the funds on the credit card. Once the goods are ready to leave we can release the funds. Easy Refunds -once an item has been charged we can automate a full or partial refund from within the SAP Business One system Connected Process - the credit card details are linked to the order and invoice records. When a payment is charged we can create the Incoming Bank Payment and link it to the invoice. You have a full audit trail of everything that happened during a card purchase. What do i need?Magma - the core Magma software plus the Credit Card Add-on Merchant Account / PSP - the first option is to request and Internet Merchant Account from your bank plus the services of a Payment Service Provider (PSP) to interface to the bank. We have integrated with the most common PSP's and can provide a list on request. Worldpay / Paypal - the second option is to obtain the services of a bureau service which replace the Internet Merchant Account and PSP. Features and Benefits
